Building Eurasian Cooperation: Dynamism and Tasks
The Korean Association of Slavic Studies (KASS) cordially invites you to the 6th East Asian Conference on Slavic Eurasian Studies held in Seoul, from June 27th - 28th, 2014. This 6th International Conference's topic is "Building Eurasian Cooperation Network: Dynamism and Tasks." The purpose of next year’s EACSES (East Asian Conference on Slavic Eurasian Studies) is to promote scholarship, education, and in all other ways to advance scholarly interests in Russian, Soviet, East European, and Eurasian studies in those East Asian countries, as well as other ICCEES members.
Papers from all humanities, and especially language and literature, including social sciences disciplines are welcome and encouraged. Individual papers and whole panel proposals (chair, three papers, and discussants) on all topics will be considered, but the latter is preferred.
Paper in the following themes are especially welcome:
1) Trust-Building Process on the Korean Peninsula and Eurasian Countries
2) Peace-making Policies and Security Issues in East Asian Countries
3) Theory and Politics in Social Sciences with a special reference to East Asian Countries
4) Eurasian Network: Theories, Frameworks, and Other Feasible Plans
5) Scholarly Nexus among the members of EACSES
6) Construction of DB on Eurasian Studies from each member of EACSES
7) Co-working and Advancing Scholarly Issues toward ICCEES in the future.
Paper submission should be included:
1) name and title
2) identifying information (email addresses, institutional affiliations, and nationality for your VISA process)
3) 300-word of abstract (either in English or Russian by your choice)
4) brief C.V.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is Feb. 28, 2014; completed paper must be sent by May 20, 2014, directly to session chairs/discussants via e-mail by no later than 2 weeks prior to the conference. Late applications will not be reviewed.Those of you who would like to participate should send their papers to Prof. Sang Hyun Kim at "AsianSlavists@gmail.com" for language and literature and Prof. Se Ho Jang at "AsianSlavists2@gmail.com" for social sciences in general, respectively.
Each committee member of KASS will screen the proposals and notify you whether your papers have been accepted; all accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Please note that we are unable to provide travel grants to all of international participants; hotel accommodation and other general subsistence during the conference are at your expenses.
