Prof. FENG Shaoleiismember of the Valdai Club 7-Person International Advisory Board, member of the international editorial board for World Economy and International Relations and Свободная мысль, member of the Committee of Social Sciences in the charge of Chinese Ministry of Education. His other social positions include: Vice Secretary-General of China National Association for International Studies, Vice President of Shanghai Institute for European Studies, Vice-President of China Association for Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies,Vice Secretary-General of Society for European Studies of China, Vice President of Society for International Strategy Research (Shanghai), Vice President of Shanghai Association for Foreign Friends. His major research fields are Russian Politics, diplomacy, social transition; great power relations; international politics theories.
Professor FENG Shaolei has launched and organized various important domestic and international conferences. Meanwhile, he has been in charge of state or international research projects such as “Research on Hearing of Witnesses System”, “Comparison between European Integration and Asia-Pacific Integration”, “Emergence of Eurasianism in Russia and its Global Influence”, “Russia-U.S.-China Trilateral Relations since 911”,“Europe-USA-Russia Trilateral Relations and Studies on Neo-Empire”, “Research on Non-traditional Sino-Russian Security Cooperation” etc.
Professor FENG Shaolei has issued over 100 academic papers and published many works. He is author of 3 monographs and 1 translation, chief editor or first author of 8 books, co-author of 2 books. Among them, Domestic Transition and Foreign Relations: Russia since 1992 was awarded the first prize at the 3rd Session of Outstanding Achievements in National Higher Education by MOE. A Series of Transition Era was awarded the second prize at the 8th Session of Shanghai Municipal Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievements.
