The 2014 Summer-Trip Program for SCO college students concluded successfully
On August 14, 2014, the 2014 Summer-Trip Program for college students from the member-states and dialogue-partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was successfully concluded in Shanghai. The program was jointly sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the International Education Center at East China Normal University, and SAIAS-SCO Research Institute. In four weeks, 36 college students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Belorussia participated in a series of activities designed for the purpose of “promoting dialogue among civilizations, and increasing affinity among nations.” These activities included topical lectures, Chinese language studies, cultural field-survey, and “be a Shanghainese for one day.” The program acquainted the international students with manifold attractions of Chinese culture and history, and of Shanghai as a metropolitan city.
